日本語

Service area and English-language support

We support restaurant permit applications in Tokyo’s 23 wards as well as Yokohama. Meetings and correspondence can be handled in English, and we can accompany you to public health centre pre-application consultations and facility inspections. We communicate with officials in Japanese and explain their questions and requirements to you in English.

Attendance, site visits and drawing preparation are quoted separately from the basic professional fee. We confirm the location, expected duration and number of visits, and agree on the scope and fees with you before starting paid work.

Before you apply

  • Menu, food preparation processes, and dine-in or takeaway arrangements
  • Floor plans and kitchen, handwashing and cleaning facilities
  • Food sanitation supervisor qualifications or appointment plans, and hygiene arrangements
Consult the competent public health office with the floor plan before construction starts. Contact us before committing to premises or fit-out work where possible. The permit or notification route depends on the food and operating model. Allow for inspection of the completed premises when planning the opening.

How we assist

We clarify the application route, organize supporting evidence, prepare application documents and assist with filing and procedural queries within the agreed scope. We confirm the competent authority and whether we can handle your location and procedure before accepting an engagement.

This page focuses on fixed premises. Food trucks, food manufacturing, transfers of an existing business and other procedures are assessed separately. We agree in advance whether public health consultation and inspection attendance are included.

Documents to discuss at the first consultation

Menu and food preparation details, floor plans and equipment information, food sanitation supervisor credentials, and operator or company information. We tailor the checklist to the premises and business model.

Please first send an outline. Do not email identity numbers, medical records or other sensitive documents before we advise a suitable delivery method.

From inquiry to application

  1. 1. Inquiry and outline
Tell us the premises location, menu and operating model, procedure, and planned fit-out and opening dates.
  2. 2. Scope and quotation
We clarify the procedure, available evidence and work required, then explain professional fees, government fees and expenses.
  3. 3. Agreement and initial payment
After agreement on scope and fees, work starts following the engagement agreement and receipt of the initial payment, normally 50% of the fixed professional fee.
  4. 4. Detailed review and preparation
Within the agreed scope, we review plans, facilities and food sanitation supervisor details, and arrange relevant prior consultation and application preparation. Site attendance and drawing preparation are quoted separately.
  5. 5. Filing and procedural queries
We assist with filing and procedural queries within the agreed scope. Where a facility inspection is required, allow for it before the planned opening. Inspection attendance is included only if agreed.
  6. 6. Outcome and delivery
We explain the outcome and deliverables. The balance is normally due on approval or before delivery, as agreed. Future renewals and changes are separate unless included.

You can request application support or a quotation without first booking a paid consultation. If detailed document review or individual advice is needed, we explain the scope and fees before starting and proceed only after agreement.
