About this mini test

This page is a simple self-check page for people who want to work in Japan in the construction field under the Specified Skilled Worker status.

Important: This mini test was created independently by Tommy’s Legal Service for learning support. It is not an official exam. It does not guarantee success in the official exam or approval of a visa application.

The construction field includes categories such as civil engineering, building, and infrastructure/equipment. Even after passing the exams, your current status, employer, job duties, employment contract, support system, and application documents must be checked carefully.

What is the SSW Construction field?

The Specified Skilled Worker Construction field is for people who work in Japan’s construction industry. Because the field has multiple categories, it is important to check whether your experience, exam category, and actual job duties match.

This mini test focuses on general safety, protective equipment, reporting, workplace Japanese, and points to check before applying. It does not explain technical construction procedures.

8 to 10 points You have a good basic understanding. Please continue studying with official learning materials.
5 to 7 points You have some basic knowledge, but should review safety checks, workplace Japanese, and reporting.
0 to 4 points Please review basic terms and official learning materials before trying again.
Before applying Passing the exam does not automatically guarantee approval of SSW status.

What to check after passing the exam

Even after passing the exam, there are important points to check for a Certificate of Eligibility application or a change of status application.

1. Applicant Current status of residence, period of stay, past applications, refusals, technical intern training history, and exam results.
2. Employer Construction business, actual job duties, employment contract, salary, social insurance, and acceptance system.
3. Documents Exam certificate, employment contract, support plan, company documents, applicant documents, and consistency with past applications.
4. Screening trends Construction field rules, additional document requests, legal updates, and acceptance conditions.
