BJT Business Japanese Mini Test

This 14-question mini test is for people who use Japanese at work or treat BJT 400 as one learning goal. It checks honorific language, implied intentions, email, meeting notes, internal notices, reporting, and listening comprehension. The focus is Japanese communication and judgment in business settings, not immigration or administrative-system knowledge.

Important: This mini test contains original learning questions created by Tommy’s Legal Service and is not an official BJT examination. A raw score on these 14 questions cannot be used to estimate an official BJT score or J level.

Purpose of this mini test

The official BJT has three sections—Listening, Combined Listening and Reading, and Reading—with 80 questions in approximately two hours. It does not simply convert the number of correct answers into a score. An IRT-based statistical method is used to report a score from 0 to 800. A score of 400 falls within the J3 range of 320 to 419.

This page does not reproduce the official examination or predict a score. It provides practice in honorific language, implied meaning, everyday workplace documents, business email, notices containing conditions, reporting, and spoken information.     11 to 14 correct answers

    You show a good understanding of basic business Japanese and workplace expressions. However, this mini test cannot be used to estimate an official BJT score or J level.

    7 to 10 correct answers

    You understand many basic workplace expressions. Continue practicing honorific language, implied intentions, documents containing conditions, and spoken workplace messages. This result cannot be converted into an official BJT score.

    0 to 6 correct answers

    Review business vocabulary, honorific language, email, reporting, workplace communication and listening from the basics. This result does not represent an official BJT score or J level.

    Japanese ability is only one part of the Business Manager visa review

    Even if you have BJT 400 or higher, or JLPT N2 or higher, that alone does not guarantee approval of a Business Manager visa. In practice, the following points may also be important:

    • Capital amount or total investment
    • Full-time staff
    • Independent and stable office space
    • Specific, reasonable and feasible business plan
    • Applicant’s academic or business background
    • Tax, social insurance and labor insurance compliance
