BJT 400-Level Business Japanese Mini Test
This timed mini test is designed for foreign entrepreneurs and business owners who are preparing for Japan’s Business Manager visa and want to check their practical business Japanese understanding. It includes business communication, immigration-related procedures, reporting, client calls, meeting schedule changes, email confirmation, and Japanese listening practice.
Purpose of this mini test
For the Business Manager visa, the applicant or a full-time staff member may need to show Japanese language ability equivalent to B2 level. One practical benchmark is a BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test score of 400 or higher.
This page helps you check whether you can understand Japanese used in practical business situations, such as company management, transactions, employment, invoices, deadlines, administrative procedures, internal reporting, phone messages, meeting schedule changes, and email attachment confirmation.

0 to 6 correct answers
You may need to strengthen your Japanese for company management and administrative procedures. Focus on business vocabulary, polite expressions, reporting, consultation, and practical listening before taking an official test.
Japanese ability is only one part of the Business Manager visa review
Even if you have BJT 400 or higher, or JLPT N2 or higher, that alone does not guarantee approval of a Business Manager visa. In practice, the following points may also be important:
- Capital amount or total investment
- Full-time staff
- Independent and stable office space
- Specific, reasonable and feasible business plan
- Applicant’s academic or business background
- Tax, social insurance and labor insurance compliance
